About the event
Join us in celebrating the life and legacy of one of the greatest jazz guitarists of all time, Wes Montgomery. Considered one of the "big three" of jazz guitar, alongside Charlie Christian and Django Reinhardt, Montgomery's innovative style and soulful musical expression have earned him a place in the pantheon of jazz legends. In 10 short years, Montgomery recorded more than 20 albums as leader and revolutionised the world of jazz guitar, and his music continues to inspire musicians and fans around the world. For this special gig celebrating Montgomery's centenary, guitarist Harry Orme leads a band featuring a peerless lineup of some of the Leeds' top players – Anna Chandler on saxophone, Sam Jackson on double bass and John Arnesen on drums. Come experience the timeless music of Wes Montgomery and celebrate his enduring legacy with a night of swinging tunes and heartfelt tribute to a true jazz giant.
