Although John Coltrane passed away over 50 years ago, his music is as relevant today as ever. Coltranes dark brooding Sax playing Is arguably the most recognizable in jazz. Tonight Ben Powling and his quartet will pay their homage to one of the greats.

About the event

Since graduating Leeds Conservatoire in 2013, tenor saxophonist and bandleader Ben Powling has performed extensively across the UK, Europe and Asia honing a personal style based in a love of 60s jazz, West African musical styles and punk.   For this date Ben and the quartet pay tribute to the legendary John Coltrane, performing music from his seminal Impulse! albums, his tenure with Miles Davis and beyond.
