About the event

A collaboration between Joe Tatton (Hammond Organ player from The New Mastersounds) and Lucas De Mulder the soul-jazz guitarist from Madrid the new album “Galactico came out this summer and this is a classic sounding hammond trio record with influences such Grant Green, Boogaloo Joe Jones, Jimmy Smith, Big John Patton, Lonnie Smith and The Meters. Following a series of gigs in Spain Joe and Lucas are bringing the trio to Leeds Domino Club on Sunday February 16th 2025. 

Joe Tatton is a pianist, organist, singer & songwriter who emerged from the diverse Leeds music scene around 2001, playing up and down the UK’s jazz, funk and soul clubs. He is a current member of famed quartet The New Mastersounds and has been playing with them for over 18 years.

As part of NMSJoe has recorded over a dozen albums and many singles, playing organ, piano and keyboard. During this time he has toured 8-9 months a year with the band, mainly in the USA but also across Europe and Japan too. Prior to this, Joe held down the keyboard role with UK jazz-funk kings The Haggis Horns, appearing on their first two albums Hot Damn! and Keep On Movin’. He’s also featured on piano/keyboards on the worldwide hit single “Put Your Records On” by Corinne Bailey Rae.

Over the years Joe Tatton has played live sets with Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley as well as Art NevilleGeorge Porter Jr. and Zigaboo Modeliste of The Meters. He’s always maintained his own trio under his own name as a side project, releasing singles and EPs via ATA Records (UK) and Color Red Music (USA).

Joe Tatton Trio‘s debut album Big Fish was released in 2022 and went on to win over a legion of support from fans and media alike, including BBC 6, national French station FIP, national Spanish station Radio 3, Australian station 2SER and media such as Blues & SoulMusic Is My Sanctuary, and Music Republic Magazine.

Fast forward 2 years and the Joe has joined forces with Spanish guitarist Lucas De Mulder for his sophomore album Galáctico, due out on July 5th 2024 and full of classic Hammond organ jazz-funk deliciousness!
